Apology

Statement of Apology

July 13, 2010

Mr. Gil Simon has asked that the following be posted on the SunLand-Facts web site:

My recent statement that  the aquifer or the groundwater utilized by the SunLand golf course had been contaminated with unacceptable levels of pesticides, fertilizers or other contaminants was misinformed, untrue  and based upon unsubstantiated information.

The fact is that there is no documentation or substantiation showing that either the aquifer or the groundwater utilized by the SunLand golf course has been contaminated with unacceptable levels of pesticides, fertilizers or other contaminants. The SunLand Water District meets or exceeds all applicable requirements and standards, both in the quality of water it provides and in the operation of the treatment facility.

I apologize to the SunLand Golf & Country Club, the SunLand Water District and, most importantly, to the SunLand community, for disseminating this incorrect information and causing an avoidable commotion.

I care deeply about the well being of the SunLand community.  I intended no harm to SunLand, the golf club or the water district.  My desire and goal have been, and will continue to be, a relationship, to work with all homeowners in contributing to the well being of our community.

I decided to run for the SLOA Board because I want to enhance what we have in SunLand and build upon the excellent quality of life we all enjoy as homeowners.

Again, my sincere apologies,

Gil Simon
